... architectural revisions

Word from my editor indicates that a third pass is well in progress, and things have gotten far tougher. By that I mean she's gotten far tougher on me, and is giving the story a good smack-around to whip it into shape. Oddly enough, two sections were so badly written that she wrote paragraphs explaining the problems, and both had to do with architecture. Simply put, the descriptions of both Nightfall's tower and The Lady's villa are confusing, and the content of the story inconsistent with what's described. To my defense, all of this was written before architecture school, and based heavily on the original story. Of course none of that is an excuse, and I look forward to extensive revisions of both problems once the manuscript is back in my hands.

Thanks for posting, John. Are you a Thief fan too or did you just stumble in by chance?

I am a huge thief fan. Loved all three games, not just for the gameplay, but also for the quality of the storytelling and the exciting world that was built.

My tale is similar to John's, while looking to see if anyone knew a way to eliminate those nasty floating skulls in T2X (help!), I stumbled across referances to the original novel, and from that, to here.

I seriously encourage you to complete these, even if they don't get published in paper format, and if it came to that, I'd probably go buy a bunch of paper and ink from Staples and print them out in colour (assuming you managed to find some cover art, which I hope you do).

@John Loved the first two games, but I couldn't enjoy the third. Even on a modern machine the thing just ran SLOOOOOWWWWWW. Slow as in I have plenty of time to observe the screen and decide where I want to run to when I've botched the job and I'm fleeing from four bloodthirsty guards.

Hi Olivier. It's nice to see another person taking interest. I may be misinterpreting your post, but COT and T2X actually are totally unrelated (other than being inspired by the same source material).

If you guys happen to need proof-reading from an outside source for typos, flow etc. I am also happy to help out (I am a graduate student in psychology, but have a background in english lit, and have done some editing in the past of various documents).

I think we have that covered right now, John, but if you'd like when writing COT2 I can put you on the critics list to get chapters as they're written, as long as you can provide alot of feedback (related to content, not just grammar).

Oh, and remember to vote on any polls I post to the blog. I hope you both will. :)
